土肥桜まつり

日本で最も早咲きの土肥桜。12月下旬より蕾が膨らみはじめ1月上旬より各所で咲き始めます。土肥桜が咲き揃い見頃となる頃、土肥松原公園で多種なイベントを開催します。また、土肥金山では「夜桜ライトアップ」も行います。

Toi is home to the earliest blooming cherry blossom trees in the whole of Japan. The flowers begin to bloom starting late December and wilt around the middle of February. They are usually in full bloom for around three weeks, during which many areas hold their own special events/ceremonies.

In Matsubara park they hold an opening ceremony to celebrate the cherry blossoms blooming (usually held after they are in full bloom). Local musicians come to perform and there are always food/good stalls to held local businesses.

Toi gold mine holds an illumination event – from 6-8 you are able to enter the grounds for free to see the cherry blossoms lit up.
